Come check out the 5th Annual Splatter Festival in Dublin this Saturday!
This Saturday, September 17th, the fifth annual Splatter Wine & Art Festival will be held at Emerald Glen Park here in Lifestyle Real Estate Services’ own back yard — Emerald Glen Park (4201 Central Parkway, here in Dublin, California).
For those who aren’t familiar with the Splatter Festival, this festival produced by the City of Dublin’s Parks & Community Services Department (with sponsorship support from local businesses) is a celebration of the final days of summer, with an abundance of family-friendly activities (see the full list here), including:
- Art-related activities including local artists’ installations and demonstrations,
- Live music and dance performances,
- A culinary and craft marketplace, as well as cooking demonstrations,
- Beer and wine tastings, and a wide selection of food to check out, and…
- Fun carnival rides and games for the children.
New this year, Splatter will be offering an “open air Tasting Gardens” area for those interested in some wine (including wineries like Concannon, Cuda Ridge, and Wente Vineyards) and beer (including Altamont Beer Works, Gordon Biersch, and Wildcide) tasting without being closed off from the rest of the festival. There’s also more flexibility this year when purchasing “Tasting Tickets”, which will make things a little less complicated for patrons of the festival this time around. You’ll be able to choose between buying tickets for a “tasting size” or “full portion size”, whether it’s a glass of wine or food.
Speaking of food, The Food Truck Mafia will also be on location with their eclectic variety of food options (we’re hoping our favorite Food Truck Mafia truck, “Twister” — or as they say, “a Mexican Grill with a Twist” will be there). For a full list of food and drink vendors who will be available (from noon until 8:00pm), check out The Tasting Garden directory.
The event itself is free, and parking for the event is free, as well. Your best bets for parking are the large parking lots on the north side (Gleason Drive) and south side (Central Parkway) of Emerald Glen Park. There should also be plenty of street parking, as well. If, by chance, parking turns out to be an issue for you, or if you just don’t feel like spending time trying to find a parking spot, there will be complimentary shuttles running every 20 minutes from the Carl Zeiss Meditec parking lot (located at 5160 Hacienda Drive at Gleason). For the cyclists out there — like our Marketing Manager here at Lifestyle — secure, complimentary bike parking will be offered at the Emerald Glen Park tennis courts. And, living in the Bay Area, let’s not forget that ride-share options like Uber and Lyft are always available, as well.
We hope to see you at Emerald Glen Park this Saturday! Have fun and, as always, drink responsibly!
