Presenting the San Francisco East Bay Area.

The greater East Bay area is as eclectic an area as the clients we help here at Lifestyle Real Estate Services. Whether it’s a condo in an urban setting, or a ranch style home nestled on acres of farmland, there’s something for everyone. Here are just a few featured communities to give you a feel for what the East Bay has to offer.

About the East Bay:

The East Bay region is referred to as such, being the eastern region of the San Francisco Bay Area. This area is home to a thriving hub of culture, including sports, music, art, parks, education, and more… all of which are as eclectic as the people that live here.

Into sports? The Oakland Oracle Arena is home to the Golden State Warriors, and next door, the Oakland Coliseum is home to the Oakland Athletics and the Oakland Raiders.

If you’re into music, there’s something for everyone… from the Oakland East Bay Symphony that plays at the Oakland Paramount Theater to Fox Oakland Theatre who hosts artists ranging from the likes of Sufjan Stevens, Ingrid Michaelson, and Damien Rice, to Alice in Chains, Jonsi, Stromae, and The Moody Blues. Other venues you can find here include the UC Berkeley Greek Theater, the nonprofit Freight and Salvage, also located in Berkeley, and the Concord Pavilion.

The East Bay is also birthplace to so many big name musicians, such as Creedence Clearwater RevivalCounting CrowsGreen DayThe Pointer SistersMC HammerTupac ShakurKeshia ColeTony! Toni! Tone!En Vogue, and many, many others.

If you’re a fan of classic or modern art, the sciences, or just finding new things to do with friends and family, the East Bay can satiate your appetite for creativity, as well. The Oakland Museum of California can be found in Lake Merritt, while the Lawrence Hall of Science is UC Berkeley’s public science center, helping children and adults alike learn and understand science.

Chabot Space and Science Center in Oakland features two planetariums, exhibits for younger children, historic space related artifacts, and structured field trip activities for visitors of all ages who want to discover and learn about space and earth sciences. These are just a few of the dozens of museums located in the East Bay area.

Looking for a park to play ball, have a romantic picnic with a significant other, or just to have a leisurely stroll? There is no shortage whatsoever in that department. In Lifestyle Real Estate’s home town of Dublin, parks range from the smaller Devany Square to both Fallon Sports Park with two baseball fields, two soccer fields, four lighted tennis courts, four basketball courts, a BMX track, and more… as well as the always thriving Emerald Glen Park, sporting a skate park, soccer fields, tennis courts, a water play area for kids, picnic areas with barbecue grills, and so much more. These types of facilities can be found all over the East Bay area, since the East Bay Regional Parks District operates over fifty parks, many of which consist of significant acreage of wild lands, including Anthony Chabot National Park, Tilden Regional Park, and Briones Regional Park, just to name a few.

Thinking about your child’s future and wondering what your educational options are? There’s great news on that front, as well! Not only is the East Bay home to prestigious universities like University of California, Berkeley and Saint Mary’s College of California in Moraga, but also a plethora of highly ranked community colleges (Chabot College in Hayward, and Las Positas College in Livermore, for example).

On April 2nd of this year, experts at college data website Niche put together a list of the 50 smartest public high schools in the US based primarily on state-assessment proficiency. Among those 50, four of them are located right here in the East Bay, and four more are located not far away in the South Bay.
