Dublin Ranch Schools

Kolb Elementary School
George Kolb came to America in 1866 from Bavaria. He made his way west and purchased Dublin’s General Store in 1894, establishing himself in the community. The newest school Dublin Ranch is an elementary school that celebrates his legacy — Kolb Elementary School. Slowed housing starts caused the opening of this school to be delayed, but it was built with funds contributed from the Recovery and Reinvestment Act and “opened for learning” for the 2011-2012 school year. Today, it is a beautiful facility and a great asset for our community.

Fallon Middle School
The Eleanor Murry Fallon School was designed by DLM Architects and was a fantastic addition to their portfolio. Construction began in Spring of 2003; the school was occupied for the first time in Fall of 2005 and cost approximately $30,000,000 to build. The design of the campus centers classroom clusters around a central courtyard, creating small villages and reducing the scale of the larger school. Fallon started as a Middle School, and then took on Elementary students in 2008 as a temporary solution until Kolb Elementary was completed for Fall 2011. With the completion of Kolb Elementary, if you live in Dublin Ranch your children will likely attend Fallon Middle School.

Green Elementary School
One of the first schools built for the Dublin Ranch Community, Green Elementary School has established itself with a fantastic reputation for excellence in the Tri-Valley Community. The Mission Statement of Green Elementary School says it all, “KIDS FIRST — Each and Every Day, we’re committed to a promise to learn, the courage to lead and support to excel.” If your children are fortunate to go to Green Elementary School, they will enjoy a wonderful learning environment along with healthy breakfast and lunch options.

Dublin High School
Many families move to the Tri-Valley Community because they know the school districts are excellent. The children living in Dublin Ranch enjoy that reputation at Dublin High School. Dublin High School has been celebrated as a California Distinguished School in 1990,1992, 1996 and 2003. It is also the only high school in Dublin that is a comprehensive high school. Dublin High School has enjoyed a great deal of renovation over the last few years. The four-phase, multi-million dollar construction project is detailed here.

Springfield Montessori School
Parents who subscribe to the Montessori method of learning for preschool and kindergarten, Dublin Ranch residents have that option as well. Founded on the ideology that children should love what they learn, Springfield Montessori strives to provide each child with an “inner discipline” from a young age that will propel them to great success in life. According to their Mission Statement, Springfield Montessori School provides an environment and materials to meet a child’s emotional, cognitive, spiritual, social, and physical developmental needs. Their goal is to help the child to help him or herself through the processes of independence, responsibility, and grace and courtesy.

The Quarry Lane School
The Quarry Lane School in Dublin Ranch is a college preparatory school that issues diplomas with the coveted International Baccalaureate (IB) designation. Students whose diplomas include an IB designation are significantly more likely to be accepted to top-level universities like Harvard, Stanford, Brown and the like. The philosophy of Quarry Lane is to empower students to say “I can make a difference.” According to their Mission Statement, they “create an atmosphere that inspires a lifelong love of learning so that each student can reach his or her fullest potential–emotionally, socially, academically, and physically–in order to assume responsibility as a future citizen of the world.”

Dublin Ranch Parks

Emerald Glen Park
The 40-acre Emerald Glen Park park located at Tassajara Road between Central Parkway and Gleason Drive has everything one could want from a neighborhood park. From a playground for the little ones, (including areas to let them play in the water), baseball, softball and soccer fields, a lighted skateboard park, a lighted tennis court and a lighted basketball court, and of course, small & group picnic areas. Greeting visitors to the park at the corner of Tassajara and Central is a gorgeous water fountain with seating around its perimeter, we here at Dublin Ranch Lifestyle find it a great place to take our laptops to do some work, or to take a good book to read and relax.

Fallon Sports Park
Fallon Sports Park will surely delight the souls of the young, and the young-at-heart. Its design was completed throughout two different phases of development — Designed to get you and yours out of the house, features include softball fields, children’s play areas, group picnic facilities, basketball, volleyball and tennis courts, a BMX track, bocce ball courts, fountains and reflection pools, rose gardens and, of course, a dog park. The entire park will be about 68 acres. Total budget for the park is about $20,000,000. For owners of Dublin Ranch homes, this new recreational area is sure to increase the desirability of the area and, subsequently, property values.

Delaney Park
Delaney Park is located at the corner of Finnian and Chancery Lane in the Dublin Ranch Villages. The park includes a playground with safety padding underfoot to keep daring little ones from getting hurt. Like Emerald Glen Park, Delaney Park has a small, seasonal water-park to beat the summer heat and play in the water. The picnic area is great for alfresco dining, and the expansive lawn area is just enough to play catch with your dog.

Sorrento Park
Part of the Sorrento Community built by Toll Brothers, part of the common area is a fantastic park that members of the Sorrento Home Owner’s Association will enjoy. All of the homes center around a beautiful park, and it includes a children’s play area, quite a few picnic tables, and an expansive lawn area. To download the Sorrento Lifestyle Brochure, you can click here.

Passatempo Park
On the corner of Lee Thompson Street and Palermo Way, next to Kolb Elementary School, Passatempo Park is 5.1 acres showcasing unique amenities, including a small vineyard on the eastern side of the park, a small creek leading to a water play area, a seasonal garden, and a section of turf surrounded by walking paths. Other park amenities include a picnic area with grilling stations, meticulously laid out foliage, shady trees, and play areas designed specifically for children. Passatempo Park also has the potential to offer scientific education opportunities for students at the adjacent Kolb Elementary School. In addition to the stunning design and scientific education features, Passatempo Park will have pedestrian linkages to Piazza Sorrento in Toll Brothers’ Sorrento West and Kolb Elementary School to the east.

Dublin Ranch Shopping

Persimmon Place
Persimmon Place is the most recently constructed shopping center to call the city of Dublin home, and brings with it a great selection of high end shopping and dining locations to the area. We at Lifestyle Real Estate Services are particularly excited about the brand new Whole Foods Market, which not only has the usual amenities like a prepared foods section, an excellent salad bar, and bakery, but also includes a dedicated juice bar, coffee bar, as well as an impressive wine bar (appropriately named Dublin Vine) which offers a rotating selection of local wines and beers. We’re also a huge fan of HomeGoods (where we manage to find a great selection of furnishings and accessories for the staging services side of our business). Persimmon Place is also home to Nordstrom Rack, Habit Burger, Vitality Bowls, Urban Plates, Starbucks Coffee with outdoor seating, and more. Retailers are still signing leases, too, so the list will continue to grow!

Grafton Station
Grafton Station is a beautiful, modern center that is anchored by Lowes and Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar, as well as Dublin Ranch Optometry. Some other restaurants that can be found at Grafton Station are Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot, Chaat Bhavan, an Indian restaurant specializing in vegetarian food, and Mayflower Chinese cuisine.

Shops at Waterford Place
Waterford Place is where Dublin Ranch residents go for a great deal of their shopping and dining. Centrally located on the corner of Dublin Boulevard and Camino Tassajara, it is anchored by Safeway Food & Drug and Wells Fargo Bank. One of our favorite places to go at Waterford Place is Peet’s Coffee & Tea, a popular hangout for Dublin Ranch residents and home of some of the best and friendliest baristas we’ve had the advantage of meeting (plus they have free wi-fi, to boot!). If you’re looking for a healthy snack, Blush serves incredible frozen yogurt in a trendy environment that includes both indoor and outdoor seating, and with toppings that are as diverse as they are delicious (our favorite topping is mochi!).

Whether it’s for a drink, for lunch, or for dinner, Coco Cabana is a great place to unwind or enjoy some tapas, small plates or their happy hour where cocktails are $5 and beers are $3 everyday from 2pm to 6pm. Other businesses at Waterford Place include Armadillo Willy’s Texas Barbeque, Postal Annex, AAA, and Renue Laser Spa, just to name a few.

Fallon Gateway Shopping Center
Fallon Gateway, located at the corner of Dublin Boulevard and Fallon Road, is anchored by Target and Dicks Sporting Goods, and has quickly become home to a wide variety of restaurants and shops. The center was designed by the award-winning professionals at FCGA Architecture in San Ramon, CA. According to their website, the center was “Designed with a modern-rural vernacular in mind. The materials range from rustic metal siding to old world brick. This center also features various lit towers.”

Along with Target, Fallon Gateway has become home to restaurants like Blue Gingko (one of our local favorites here at Lifestyle), Jersey Mike’s Subs, Panera Bread, and BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse, known for their great selection of handcrafted beers. Alongside the restaurant selection at Fallon Gateway, there are shops like The UPS Store, Supercuts, and more.

Ulferts Center
Ulferts Center, Dublin is a smaller shopping complex just outside of Dublin Ranch, located on the corners of Dublin Boulevard and Glynnis Rose Drive. Here, you can find a variety of dining, shopping, and indulgence destinations that have been enjoyed by residents of Dublin Ranch for years now. What we love about Ulferts is that, where other shopping centers seem to cater more towards larger, corporate franchises, Ulferts Center celebrates the entrepreneurs of our community, and does so in buildings with fantastic architectural appeal.

Popular lunch and dinner spots include Thai Basil Express, Koi Palace, Soho Cafe, and Halu Shabu Shabu. For dessert, make sure to check out Kee Wah Bakery. The store is almost always packed, and for good reason – they have mastered the art of melt-in-your-mouth Chinese pastries. A few stores down, you can find Quickly, masters of the art of bubble tea.

We love the selection of eyeglass frames at Golden Dublin Optometry, and the casual environment at House of Sake was voted “Best Sake & Sushi Restaurant” in 2004 by Channel 5’s Evening Magazine. We highly recommend spending some time at Ulferts Center. Each shop is so unique, and offers a high quality experience not easily duplicated.

San Francisco Premium Outlets
The San Francisco Premium Outlets have undergone a few name changes in its short lifespan — from the Paragon Outlets, to the Livermore Premium Outlets, to its current moniker, “The San Francisco Premium Outlets“. We here in Dublin Ranch couldn’t be more excited to have such a great selection of outlet shops literally right down the street from us. With names like Barneys New York Warehouse, Burberry, Diesel, Gucci, Prada, and Versace, you can’t go wrong with the world-class shopping available next door. Complete with a large food court in the middle of the complex, you could easily spend an entire day here and still not have explored all the retailers. For a complete listing of the shops within the San Francisco Premium Outlets, check out this official store listing.
