The most unique thing about this lovely home is one you may not notice immediately — it’s the windows and french door system leading out to the patio off the dining area. A retired police officer who had relocated to the Bay Area from Florida, the previous occupant had always dreamed of owning a home with luxurious, wood-framed windows that were expertly crafted. The Administrator for her estate told us this story, and our team was so inspired by it. We set out to create a design plan that would honor her memory, and where the windows were the focal point of our work. We stained the frames a cool “Carbon” stain color and then counteracted it with a warm, white paint color that feels cozy and comfortable.
